The 1.5M Apache DLG (Discus Launched Glider) is completely ARF (Almost Ready
to Fly), and comes fully assembled and covered. All the "builder" needs to do
is add some basic components, glue in your servos, add a battery and receiver,
route the pushrods, and presto! You're ready to take to the skies.
The Apache DLG is a competitive F3K class glider, yet costs hundreds less
than other models. At 12oz fully ready to fly, the Apache will penetrate those
challenging headwinds, yet will still signal the slightest hint of lift and
allow you to core thermals with ease. The aileron controls in addition to the
rudder/elevator assembly allow nimble, precision flight, helpful when used in
smaller parks or thermal fields, and are effective spoilerons for outstanding
control on recovery approach.
The Apache DLG has a very strong tail boom and large rudder, and builtup
hardpoints in the wing tips for very high discus launches. The Apache truly is
competition worthy.
The Apache wing is made from top quality balsa ribs,
covered in transparent Oracover (like Monocoat), and the fuse is light
fiberglass nose (with removable nose cone for easy assembly!) and a tapered
carbon tail boom for low weight and high strength.
We recommend using a 4 cell 300mah NiHM or
equivalent sized battery pack, HS-55 or W-084 sized servos for the tail group
and ailerons, the Electron 6 ch. receiver, with the case removed for minimum
weight. |
