Avionik D17
The amazing strength to weight ratio of the D17 comes through Sergey Sobakin’s years of experience in designing and building competitive models, as well as using very elaborate, proven manufacturing techniques. The wing profile and overall design allows for the fastest laps, with easy controllability. With 4 cells and a gear drive he D17 can really fly, but on 5 Lipo cells, the model is truly competitive! It gets right down to business but with manners! The model flies clean, straight, and pulls through nicely in the turns.
This is destined to be another legendary entry from Sergey Sobakin, adding to his growing line of top quality, race winning aircraft. Sergey's planes are the highest quality available, but the quality is not just cosmetic... As an aeronautical engineer, the beauty is not just skin deep on these models! (But they do have really sweet paint jobs!)
Construction of the D17 is the same proven construction formula used in previous models: a Kevlar and Carbon fuselage, and a sandwiched wing of Fiberglass, Carbon, and Rohacell, with Carbon spars.
The Avionik D17 is the next generation of the Avionik D99, D2000, and D10. With its streamlined fuselage, it can squeak out that little bit of extra speed on the course to get you a win! There's not a lot more I can tell you about the D17. If you are into Class F5D (Electric Powered Pylon Racing), you know about the Avionik D-series models, and you know they have what it takes.
