Concept CX5 Pro
A lot of new planes entered the market in the past months and Team Concept does not want to stay behind new trends and technologies. Why a Concept X5? Well, most of you know the variety of CX planes over the years and in my opinion, they are still having the best wind penetrating plane on the market with the CX4. But being good here needs a trade off in other parts of the flight envelope.
First one was to move the flight envelope towards better deadair characteristics but giving away only little of the wind penetration abilities. So, thinner airfoil with a wing area of 19,5 sqdm. New, more aerodynamic fuselage with slip off nose (designed by Laurynas himself) and finally – a solid core wing! That was one of the reason, why they asked Laurynas. He is the best producer of solid core wings and also one of the top overall quality producers worldwide…From the start he was able to match the defaults concerning weights. An AUW of 210-230gr should be achieved very easily. Wing – CW40 layup with HM carbon reinforcement ~105gr Fuselage – ~ 33gr tailset – average ~ >10gr.
The CX5 F3k is a high end model based on a modified CX4 high performance DLG. The CX5 F3k has been optimized for fast climb and easy handling to allow the pilot to use the softest lift with maximal efficiency and the greatest of ease. The CX5 F3k has incredibly flat glide and low sink rate and reacts very well to both camber and ballast.
The CX5 F3k comes with a high level of pre-fabrication to reduce the build time to just a short few hours. The nose of the CX5 F3k is designed to take a wide variety of servos, batteries and receivers. The CX5 F3k supports many servo types such as MKS 75 and 65 and more.
