Avionik E23
From designer Sergey Sobakin, the E23 is the latest evolution of Avionik"s "D" Series models for advanced F5D pylon racing.
Though they look similar, the differences between the older D17 and the new E23 are:
- The E23 has a higher aspect ratio for both the wing and horizontal stabilizer. The airfoil is now thinner as well. The vertical stabilizer is also a bit taller which helps with tracking. The new fuselage design is slightly longer and narrower than the D17. The fuse is partially made of 2.4 friendly aramid fibers so you can keep the RX-antennas inside for approximately 15cm behind the wing opening.
The wings are available in a variety of colors and come in a standard aileron version as well as a wing with separate flaps added.
The amazing strength to weight ratio of the E23 comes through Sergey Sobakin’s years of experience in designing and building competitive models, as well as using very elaborate, proven manufacturing techniques. The wing profile and overall design allows for the fastest laps, with easy controllability. With 4 cells and a gear drive he E23 can really fly, but on 5 Lipo cells, the model is truly competitive. The model flies clean, straight, and pulls through nicely in the turns.
Construction of the E23 is the same proven construction formula used in previous models: a Kevlar and Carbon fuselage, with a wing of a Fiberglass, Carbon, and Rohacell sandwich with Carbon spars.
If you are into Class F5D (Electric Powered Pylon Racing), you know about the Avionik D-series models, and you know they have what it takes.
